We rode the trolley to Manhattan Beach to have breakfast at 'Uncle Bill's Pancake House'! Absolutely fabulous - real, fresh strawberries on pancakes! The first photo is taken outside Uncle Bill's, I'm standing on the throughfare which goes down to the beach. Note the front yards of the local houses - very different to here!
Manhattan Beach is a city located in southwestern Los Angeles County, California, USA. Its population was 33,852 at the 2000 census. The city is on the Pacific coast, south of El Segundo, and north of Hermosa Beach. Manhattan Beach is the home of both beach and indoor volleyball, and surfing. During the winter, the waves can get as big as 12 feet.
Once we got down to the beach, we walked along the front. On the pier, I took a photo of all the volleyball games going on this morning!

The boys asked me to play volleyball - but they said I'd have to take my shirt off so I'd look like them. I said, 'No thanks.'
